The History of The OBViOUS: 2000 2001 2002 2005
2001
=Under construction= 2001 - January 7~10 - The OBVIOUS flys to the UK to record 4 songs (including their upcoming single "hEY yOU!") live at Abbey Road Studios London, UK. One week after returning from their Abbey Road session, The Digital Banana Recording Studio and mr christopher move to Tokyo, Japan (January 19, 2001). *April to June, 2001 -After a 3 month hiatus, production on the latest album from the OBViOUS resumes in the recently transplanted Digital Banana Recording Studio in Tokyo's fashion district, Harajuku. Not all equipment survives the move. Bradley saves the day by arranging a last minute delivery of an important piece of gear in a last minute trans-Pacific delivery top a desperate mr christopher in Japan. *July, 2001- This month saw the completion of recording and mixing of the latest OBViOUS CD in Tokyo Japan. mr christopher personally delivers the pre-mastered songs to the states for mastering. The September 15 release of 4OBViOUS rEASONS and the "hEY yOU!" EP happen under the shadow of the September 11th terrorist attacks in the US. Musically, 4OBViOUS rEASONS was a huge step forward for the OBViOUS combining rock with swing on "Dorathy Lamour", rock pop with electronica on "Only One", a bit of funk with "Ducky", a jazz flavored "Wouldn't You Know" as well as super power pop hits like "hEY yOU!" and "Say It With Your Eyes", along side of the big rockers like "Mysterious" and "Some Other Guy". =Under construction= |
